Bihar MLAs suspended: Sling Slipper

Said Something ???

Sixty Seven MLAs in Bihar Today were suspended for “unruly” behaviour as slippers were flung at the speaker and pots flung around due to some usual  disagreements.

The politicians or the so-called “leaders”  which included 42 RJD MLAs, were suspended by Assembly Speaker Udai Narain Choudhry and marshaled out of the Legislative assembly one-by-one.

Guess what they were angry about?

Some financial irregularitiesin the state after a CAG report. The Opposition is now  demanding the resignation of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.

But isn’t the same case in all or at least most of the states and government departments throughout the country.

TOI Reports

As the watch and ward staff lifted RJD MLA Bablu Dev, his colleagues rushed to his rescue. In the melee, a slipper was thrown towards the Speaker’s podium. It was not immediately known who had flung the footwear which, however, did not hit the Speaker.

Note the last line.  ..which however did not hit the Speaker.

I guess now even the media is tired of reporting the throwing of slippers or chappals on leaders which do not hit the leaders/politicians/scamsters.

The slingers should at least go for a confident shot which does hit the target or maybe play some Counter Strike before such ambitious and covert operations.

IF every Assembly starts showing such attitude due to the regular irregularities,  I guess all the assemblies will have to reserve, say, half-an-hour every session  for the slinging of slippers and pots. I think even the Politicians are tired of the regular slow, tedious and lame work that they do in every assembly. I really think they deserve some adventures like these in the assemblies.

Wot say??

Indian Youth- The Talented and the Needed…

Posted by Fahimz On February - 12 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Recently ‘ve been reading an article on Businessworld that has been putting a lot of pressure on the way the media today pushes reports and “reports” news rather than guiding the youth about whats right.

But the Article, which came as a case study highlited a school where the students where checking out news, crappy news on a Laptop. Now that is something that you’ll see only in Rich schools and mainly in the Metros of the country.  It said that the 11th and 12th graders of the country are reading news about Rakh Sawant, knew about the Country’s GDP Strenghts etc but where not concerned about the problems faced by the country (it gave the example of Maoists).

But the Magazine forgets one thing. Junior College students in such Rich schools form a small fraction of the country’s huge youthful population. Let us take the Population in good or in nearly good schools to be about 5% (i know that’s big). Out of that about 3% or nearly 4%(80% of the group) would be spoilt brats. The rest are somewhat talented and ambitious.

Sum : 1 out of 100

Now out of the rest not-so-lucky 95%, 2% would have the crave to better their lives and get out of poverty and excel.

Sum : 3 out of 100

These talented and informed 3 people have the ambitions to be the best in their fields, live the so-called “high-life”.

These are the 3 people who now have the resposibility to create job opportunities for the rest 97 people who might not be as smart as them but are still worthy enough. They can work and help the economy grow. But the 97% is surely not interested in state politics or about where the country is heading or what the country has the potential to do.

Now the “Talented 3″  become so concerned about the future that some fights going on in some remote place in the country does not seem important to them. Readin and knowing about the wrong people seems highly unuseful and a big waste of time to them. Why would they do something that would bring harm to them or to their families(which is the case many a times when concerned person tries to raise a voice against the wrong or faulty)

So the “Talented 3″ will continue to make impacts on the economy while the rest 97 will support them. So no one cares whose right or wrong and surely not about what needs to be done.

But the question is What is more important, Creating jobs for the 97 or trying to solve a long time problem in a remote area of the country?

Apple Tablet v/s Kindle?

Posted by Fahimz On January - 5 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Steve JobsEver since rumours about Apple’s tablet being launched surfaced, media world over just couldn’t stop writing about it, many predicting another blockbuster from the Apple shed. Investors have gone berserk and hopes are sky high.

Brian Claufield writes on Forbes that Apple’s chief, Steve Jobs may be aiming the Tablet at the Amazon’s hot-selling e-reader Kindle.

Oppenheimer analyst Yair Reiner reports that Apple shall begin the manufacturing of the Tablet from February suggesting a late April Commercial release. Assuming that Apple sells 1-1.5 million units for $1000 each and make up 22% margin the tablet could amazingly add 25-38cents per Apple’s each share.

He writes Apple might be approaching publishers with a better deal then what Kindle offers. Reiner writes that Apple might just ask 30%  of revenues generated by selling e-books and moreover will not ask publishers for an exclusive commitment somewhat similar to the 70-30 share that Apple already offers to the developers making software for its iPhone and iPod Touch

The Importance of news.

Posted by Fahimz On December - 4 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

Media and news is something very important for traders. Why am I emphasizing on listening, watching or reading to news so much? Because you need to know what the companies on the street are doing , planning to do, won’t be able to do or are quite capable to do. Companies have to justify every move they take to the Market Regulators such as SEBI or SEC. They therefore take shareholders consent before taking major moves. They announce their strategies, their projections and reports to the media. Hence media contains quite valuable information about the trajectory in which a stock or in a broader perspective, the market shall ride.

So what we see in movies that one threatening sentences by companies(mainly fraudsters) change the course of their trajectory is many a times true. Not only Fraudsters but even when companies announce their quarterly or yearly results, the course of  their stock prices change. So staying alerted and informed is something that you should certainly not neglect.
