In a ceremony held on Wednesday night in the MIT campus , Cambridge, MA, Ksplice, a technology start-up by MIT alumni won an awars of $100k in a start-up competition.
Ksplice’s technology lets computer users install software updates while other programs are running, thus making it possible to continue without a reboot.
Waseem Daher, Ksplice’s chief operating officer said,”You know those annoying pop-ups that read, ‘you must reboot to install new updates?’ We are making them obsolete.”
Ksplice plans to license the technology directly to software companies.
Hope Microsoft starts using the software soon and i would get a relief on my Vista system which just asks for Reboot after every update.
